INTERNATIONAL WRESTLING AUSTRALIA proudly returned to Western Sydney for IWA - REVERSE THE CURSE on Saturday 9th May at Hudson Hotel for an epic night of live pro wrestling.
Here's what went down:

IWA TRANS-TASMAN CHAMP COSMO COOPER pinned SCOTT GREEN in an exciting opening match that could have easily gone the other way. Cosmo was able to quickly hold down Scott for a three-count, entering Cooper into the conversation as one of the greatest IWA Trans-Tasman Champions of all time. (7:07)

After the bout, TY THAYER returned to IWA after losing to Cosmo in a Hair vs Title match last month at IWA's 28 Year Anniversary event. With a new look and new attitude, he knocked Cosmo down from behind and began shaving Cosmo's head in return before being stopped by IWA officials

A Dream Team of Cowboy Chris Abbott and Dazza fought North Shore Wrestling (Will Kiedis and Sam Osborne) to a disqualification. Jack Osborne, who was in the corner of North Shore Wrestling, made his presence felt with frequent interference until Referee Matthew Farrelly had him ejected from ringside. As Dazza and Abbott seemed to have the match under control, Jack reappeared with an attack on both country boys, standing tall but dropping the match for his team. (9:37)

New IWA BlackBear BBQ Champion Marley Peleti took care of business in his home area by pinning EC Brownie after a hard-fought battle. Brownie has not been beaten in IWA in over a year and Marley was able to get his lick back over a loss to Brownie 6-months ago. (10:19)

Zesty Zane and Bricktoria excited IWA fans at the Hudson this past weekend, but was quickly defeated by the powerful Jack Pain, who made a rare appearance in a ring for the night. (2:12)

El Phoenician got the last laugh over Tony Sin on Saturday night. Phoenician beat Sin by using Sin's own thurible against his while the referee wasn't looking, to the delight of the audience. Phoenician has now retained ownership of the Super Contenders Cup trophy and will do whatever it takes to keep winning. (7:14)

After the match, his celebration was cut-short by IWA Australian Heavyweight Champion Randal, who has been attacking Phoenician for since he won the Championship. After a short shuffle quickly broken up, Phoenician declared to the audience and Randal that if the Masked Kamikaze kept the title, the Super Contender would come down and use the title shot that winning the Cup grants you and cash in on Randal TONIGHT. However, it wasn't meant to be...

The Tuckman finally reversed the curse of the IWA Australian Heavyweight Title as he defeated Randal to win the gold once and for all. Tuckman's IWA career was in jeopardy during the bout, which he won. Throughout the match, Randal tried to get himself counted-out and disqualified, both were reversed by IWA Management. Then after the match was deemed a No DQ contest, North Shore Wrestling, Mana & Manoush, Chris Abbott and Dazza all made appearances throughout the match. It wasn't until the shocking appearance of IWA great JIMMY TOWNSEND that the match was able to change in Tuckman's favour, as Jimmy Townsend was able to return a chairshot to Randal that Randal gave Jimmy last April. Tuckman finished off the former-champion with a Springboard Cutter to claim the gold (ironically as he had previously done to Jimmy Townsend a year earlier) as Townsend vanished again. (17:22)

AFTER THE MATCH El Phoenican came to the ring to flaunt the Super Contenders Cup and his impending title shot, which caused an argument and tense stare-down between the Dropouts and Mana & Manoush.

THANK YOU to all that attended the SOLD OUT IWA REVERSE THE CURSE. We can't wait to be back in Sydney, follow IWA on social media to stay up to date with upcoming dates.
